Thanks. I haven’t read this book - will do so - and yet I understand what you are writing about. A difficult and personal journey to the truth. Truth heals - lies make us sick. Difficult not to become sick while immersed in lies. Look forward to more on your journey.
I read A Hunter Gatherers Guide a few months back. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll now be checking out a few of those other books you recommend. I do like Heather and Brett, but found their weekly podcast straining to avoid the more fringe ideas, that I think you get to quite easily when applying their methods of discernment. Id like them to discuss the actual existence of viruses (i know this is a very divisive topic), I actually think the no virus evidence crowd have a strong fight and would like to hear their take on it.
I am pretty sure from what they have said (repeatedly stating that covid is a very dangerous virus) that they would not entertain the no virus hypothesis for one second..
In regards to virus/no virus arguments, which would be a longer conversation, but, in brief, my observation is that there is a quantum level with non-observable (by the basic physical senses) “causes” wherein “belief” steers toward the “evidence” and “proof” that the belief demands dependent on how certain one is in that belief. For example, I see many more people who believe in viruses as things which have a will to survive and replicate getting sick on a rather routine basis than people who see them as a mechanical effect of toxin disposal created by the cells which can be lessened or avoided altogether by being proactive in keeping more clear pathways in all systems of the body/mind. I acknowledge the existence of pathogens/ toxins of various kinds but have “proved” to myself that they can be protected against or eliminated in simple, natural ways. Throughout the entire time of the last three years, and indeed, for decades before that, I have been “exposed” to hundreds of thousands of people in crowded conditions without once “coming down” with an “infectious disease”. My “belief” is that it has nothing to do with luck, but with knowledge and attitude. I refer to it collectively as frequency. It seems strange to me that anyone would insist on a firm conviction that produces less desirable results than someone else’s mind-setpoint. The old - “would you rather be right or happy/healthy?” but with the possibility that with more flexible ideation, you could be both.
Thank you so much. To recommend another substack, if you got to the writer's Dashboard, you should see a tab headed "Recommendations", click on this and at the bottom is a Manage Recommendation link, from there there isa an "Add Recommendations" button.
I’ll add these to my list, Gary, thank you for the suggestions.
Very comprehensive! You are also consistently so thorough. Thank you for the suggested readings. I intend to delve in!

Thank you. Makes a lot of sense to me.

You are on my recommended list too!
Glad you got something out of McGilchrist - really helps to understand our fellow humans - although a very long book.
