All the Anathemas

A Quick Commentary on Our Current Culture

All this total control freakery, authoritarianism, patriarchal patronizing, nanny state-ism, arising around the world;

all this despite, contempt and disdain for the common people;

all this blaming, shaming, scapegoating, finger pointing, and finger wagging;

all the double standards, do-as-i-say-not-do-as-i-do, hypocrisy;

all the disregard and dissing of rights, freedoms, autonomy and agency;

all the telling us what we can and can’t do, feel, say, eat or think;

all the divide-and-conquer tactics;

all this arising from a small of minority of people with disproportionate power, wealth and status,

all the unelected or unaccountable powers-that-be (or “the gits” to use a satirical English idiom),

is all very jarring, disturbing, suffocating, stifling to me,

all totally anathema, poisonous and toxic to my personality type.

I just wish they would all go way,

to all work on themselves, attend to their childhood traumas, get better, grow up,

and all come back when they have demonstrated they can play nice, and can be decent to and with their fellow human beings.

Perhaps that is just me.
